It’s only the fourth day of the year but it feels that we have already seen it all. The reviews of last year, the success stories, the learnings and all the planning that is related to making the new year even better.

As we are an ever-growing community of writers, there is abundance in describing how X or Y made this or that much money by following an overly simplified strategy — that is tried and tested and it would surely work for you, as it it worked for them.

The variety is overwhelming too.

This one wrote only one article a week, that one wrote 3 a day — both are claiming that the frequency of publishing makes all the difference. This one suggests to stick to a habit of writing at least 500 words, that one says that they have a fool-proof method of churning out 5,000 a day — and this is the Holy Grail. This one says to stick to your niche, that one suggests to branch out. This is transparent of their earnings, that one forgets to mention that the only reason for their success is that one article went viral and they couldn’t have repeated it ever since.

Then, of course, begins the self-promotion part, that might or might not involve Facebook and Facebook ads, Quora, Twitter, Reddit and…
