How many times, tell me, how many times did you feel that you are not enough? That you are not pretty enough? That you are not clever enough? Successful enough? That you haven’t done enough, and you could have done more? How many times have you been expected to be better? Prettier? More? How many times did you feel that whatever you do would never be enough? For your friends? For your mother? Your father? Your family? For your siblings? How many times should you have been somebody else to please them? How many times did you feel inadequate?

How many times did they make you feel that you were too much? Talking too much? Being a smart-ass? Doing too much? Caring too much? Crying too much? Talking too loudly? Talking too softly? Wanting too much? Wanting someone out of your league? Needing too much? Too much attention? Too many reassuring words? Too much love? Too needy? Too vulnerable? Too honest? Too open? Too much of everything?

How many times did you feel too much? Too much of others’ feelings? Crying over someone else’s grief just because feeling someone else’s loss was easier than facing your own brokenness? How many times did you feel that life is too much, yet you still carried on? How many times did you put on a smile not…
