How to Deal With Negative Comments?

Don’t let anyone make you change, write your own truth all the time

I have never been too active on social media. At first, only because I couldn’t care less about sharing regular updates about myself, my breakfast and my life. Then later on when things were starting to get shaky with my ex and the mask of the charming man started to slip to reveal his true narcissistic self, I became extra cautious about what I share.

I never cared about privacy too much, but when he started to stalk my profile — when we were still together — interrogating me about people who commented on my rare posts, questioning my honesty if someone from the past appeared and tagged me on a photo, I started to disappear from social media altogether.

I was just not worth it.

When we broke up, he was still stalking me — probably he still does, only there is nothing to see.

This is the reason for me to use a pen name, for I don’t want him to know anything about my life.

Not using social media I never got used to getting negative comments. I was interacting only with friends and I was quick to unfollow, unfriend or even block anyone who seemed passive-aggressive. I was safe in my little bubble.
