As writers, our wish to be read by our readers is just as important as the power of self-expression through writing, the power of healing and processing our thoughts. Even though lots of writers are introverts, deep down, when it comes to sharing our work, we are vain exhibitionists.

We need readers to validate us, to give us feedback, to signal it to us that the thoughts we conceived are worthy for eyes other than just our own.

Writing for an audience is a beautiful symbiosis between the writer and the reader, a bridge that reaches through space and time, creating a connection between two people through the power of words and the thoughts and emotions that they evoke.

With the recent changes in the Medium earning system, getting our readers and followers read our work is even more important. It ceased to have only sentimental value, it directly contributes to our monthly earnings.
