Misogyny, Mansplaining, Me Too

I am not a job-hopper, but I have changed jobs quite a few times in my life. Most of them ended in a friendly, or even tearful way — just like when the love dies and you both know it’s time to move on. Others ended on a rather disappointed tone, as in I disappointed them for leaving — to give way later to a steady professional relationship, when we still look out for each other, help each other whenever we can.

There is always a first time

There was however one occasion that was due to irreconcilable conflict, stemming from jealousy and raging misogyny. I was the most senior person in charge of a whole department at a well-known ad agency when a new boss arrived out of nowhere to teach me lessons about the profession, he had no idea about. About the profession, I happened to be quite the expert at. And it wasn’t even about him trying to teach me, it was about how he wanted to do that.
