There is something extraordinary about change. Especially if you change yourself — with hard work, effort, and persistence. It’s incredible to see how the world changes too along with your own change.

Some changes come automatically and effortlessly, you level up — abandon old habits and priorities, only because there is a new situation that requires a new you. Some changes are forced onto you and you have no other way but to adapt and bounce back differently after falling down — this can be getting fired from a job or having your heart broken. This is difficult, but as change is the only option, you just grit your teeth and do it. And some changes you choose — and they are the hardest. Realizing that the old ways don’t work and don’t serve you anymore, you need willpower and patience and time — without external help, just you and your mind. Lifestyle changes, weight loss, leaving a toxic relationship, and giving up addictions, are all difficult journeys.

But once you’re there, it’s different. It’s not changing overnight. It’s not that yesterday I was still a people pleaser but today I know better so I am not. It’s not that one day you are attracted to bad boys and the next you consciously choose compatibility and values over…
