Children are the biggest teachers ever. There is no school, education, no life event or trauma that can teach you more about life, yourself and human beings than having kids around you. They are both a blessing and a lesson — actually quite a few lessons.

The more kids you have, the bigger the learning will be — although, just one will teach you enough that lasts a lifetime, too.

In certain life areas, I am a slow learner. Or to be more precise, I never learn. Not from others' mistakes, not from my own experience.

But I also like challenges. I like pushing my limits, stretching my boundaries, experiment with all sorts of experiences, just to see how much I can take without becoming a nervous wreck.

This week, I took it to the extreme.

I took my kids on a holiday. A drive that was supposed to last 7 hours… (okay, make it more like 9, due to the pee-breaks and various nervous breakdowns) to reach the closest seaside in Italy, with three kids in the back. It’s nothing if not challenging. It’s nothing if not a huge life lesson.
