The balance is only there if it’s your decision. When you actively take on new projects it’s your decision. But others dumping their work on your desk – you suffer the consequences of their decision.

You need to start standing up for yourself. Decide what is okay and what not, and express it – assertively. Start saying no. But like tomorrow. Practice it, find ways to say it so you don’t feel bad about it.

There is an exercise where you need to write down ten different versions of saying no to the same request – fine tuning it in advance how you feel most comfortable phrasing it. Try it!

I might write a longer article explaining that. It yes, I’ll tag you :)

Hope it helps some more. :)
