The Loneliness We Carry

A poem

I am carrying
My loneliness with me
Across borders
Space and time
Flow by to leave me
Awestruck by the
Infinity of solitude
Nesting between my
Heart and ribcage
A vague line
Of sand and shore
Never to disappear
It just blurs into
The reality of
Days.

Your body warms
My body, not my soul.
I need you.
The nights are cold.
And the sun still
Dries my tears
Before they drip
Into the sea.

Loneliness is eternal.
We just like the company.
