Why You Should Write a Shitty Book
The lack of confidence can be a good thing
I just don’t think I have it in me.
This is my usual phrase when it comes to, well… anything. Ugh, I’m sure I won’t be able to do one single burpee. I can’t do a push-up. I can’t get up 2 hours earlier. I can’t write 100 words for the book I am so desperate to write.
Why? Because I just don’t think I have it in me.
And maybe I am right. But usually, I am dead wrong.
“Whether you think you can or can’t you are right.” — Henry Ford
No matter what you believe about yourself, you will do everything in your power to make sure you are right. This is how perfectly able folks act clumsy. This is how super-talented people doubt themselves. And this is how morons get to do what you and I just dream about.
My dream — may be the biggest dream of my life — is to write a book. I don’t only dream about having the ready product in my hands — although I think that would be an exceptional feeling. I also dream about the process, I want to write it, I want to struggle with it. I want it all — the good and bad parts.
And I know that all I should do is sit down every day and add a couple of hundred words to the file.
