How I Lost 80lbs Without Gaining It All Back

Now that we are already in February, the first rush of new year resolutions are over, we already ditched the crash-diets and quit the gym we had joined and now we start to look for something sustainable before summer hits and brings all those beach-body expectations we want to comply with.

I started my last weight loss journey two years ago, in February, sick and tired of being heavy and clumsy all my life. It wasn’t about getting a beach body, it was about finally putting an end to the endless circle of dieting and gaining it all back.

A year ago, one year into the journey, very proud of myself, I wrote an article that told the story that I lost 70lbs in a year. I wrote about all the hardships and the learnings, and I also shared the tips and tricks that I used mentally and physically.

Since then, I have been even prouder of myself, for I not only did not gain it back but managed to lose another 10 pounds — reaching my final arbitrary goal. This means, that I no longer want to lose any more weight, instead, I intend on keeping it off and building muscle while not going back to my old habits.
